Packing for a Tropical Trip

So you’re going on a trip!? YAY! I hope you are ready to soak up some sun and take a much needed vacay. Packing and being prepared can be an unnecessary stresser before an otherwise fun and relaxing trip. Use this packing list for a tropical beach vacation to help ease your mind and get you one step closer to paradise!

  • Mini Shampoo and Conditioner

  • Mini body wash or soap

  • Hairbrush

  • Makeup - tinted Moisturizer with SPF!!!

  • YETI cups (at all-inclusive resorts they will make your drinks IN YOUR CUP if you ask!)

  • Cash to tip bartenders or beach vendors

  • Sunscreen for face and body

  • Aloe Vera or Cooling Gel

  • Ziplock bags for your electronics or waterproof phone cases

  • Beach towels and chairs if the hotel doesn’t provide them


  • Jewelry (classic silver and gold pieces that match everything)

  • Chapstick/Lip Conditioner

  • Headbands/Bandannas for the beach

  • Huggie for bottles

  • Cards for a rainy day

  • Straw bag/beachy purse

Things to Prep

  • Download your Spotify playlists in case WiFi/Service is spotty

  • Download Podcasts for a long car ride

  • Make dinner reservations if applicable

  • Book excursions if applicable

  • Bring bars/nuts for snacks in the car or plane

  • Put your lights on timers

  • Unplug appliances (This is Us…just can’t get it out of my head)

  • Bring empty water bottles to avoid buying drinks in an airport


  • Fully charge all devices: watch, speaker, phone, headphones, etc.

  • Make arrangements for pets

  • Move meats to the freezer and eat your leftover produce

  • Take out the trash

  • Empty the sink and load the dishwasher

  • Last minute grooming like waxes, haircuts, mani/pedi

  • Double check that you have your ID and/or passport

  • Print any tickets or necessary documents in case something happens to your phone

  • Notify any customers, business colleagues or teachers that you will be out of pocket and unable to answer emails

  • Book any services like massages, paddle board rentals, bike rentals, tours, etc. to make sure there is availability

  • Make sure any outstanding bills that will arrive during your trip are paid (i.e. rent and utilities)
